Internship Experience: Why Money Isn’t Everything

Pepperdine’s Jesse Elrod recently took the time to blog about his experience as a summer intern in Ecuador.

During my (internship) search I began to realize that that my performance is highest when I enjoy my work.

Since I am most interested in non-governmental and public sector organizations, it only made sense that I would look for an internship in one of these sectors. I am especially interested in a career in international development and public health.

The only problem was that many of these organizations pay their interns little, and often require travel to the developing countries where they operate. I was okay with that. But how could I make this work?
