Internship Experience: New York State Senate
(MSMC News) – This semester, Mount Saint Mary College student Kyle McIntyre of Drexel Hill, Pa. traded the classroom for the New York State capitol building.
McIntyre, a History/Political Science major, is currently completing an internship with the New York State Senate through the Senate Undergraduate Session Assistants Program. The sophomore is working for Senator Roxanne J. Persaud (D), Senate District 19.
“The internship has been an amazing journey so far,” he said. “I have learned so much already.”
According to the New York State Senate, the Senate Undergraduate Session Assistants Program offers 30 talented students an immersive experience in the legislative process. The four-month program is meant to provide them with an appreciation for a variety of government processes, including legislation development, legislative sessions, and interacting with constituents.
